NOTES AND CORRESPONDENCE Generalized Adjoint for Physical Processes with Parameterized Discontinuities. Part V: Coarse-Grain Adjoint and Problems in Gradient Check

چکیده
When on/off switches are triggered at discrete time levels by a threshold condition in a traditionally discretized model, the model solution is not continuously dependent on the initial state and this causes problems in tangent linearization and adjoint computations. It is shown in this paper that the problems can be avoided by introducing coarse-grain tangent linearization and adjoint without modifying the traditional discretization, although the coarsegrain gradient check can be performed only for finite perturbations.

High penetrability of wireless, mobile, portable, and handheld devices has resultedin education for all as the mobile’s challenge coincides with an unprecedentedgrowth in access to pedagogical materials technology, particularly in developingcountries (UNESCO Mobile Learning Week Report, 2011). The present study setout to discover how Muslim learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) areenc...
متن کاملOn the parameterized complexity of short computation and factorization
A completeness theory for parameterized computational complexity has been studied in a series of recent papers, and has been shown to have many applications in diverse problem domains including familiar graph-theoretic problems, VLSI layout, games, computational biology, cryptography, and computational learning [ADF,BDHW,BFH, DEF,DF1-7,FHW,FK]. We here study the parameterized complexity of two ...
متن کاملSome notes on the characterization of two dimensional skew cyclic codes
A natural generalization of two dimensional cyclic code ($T{TDC}$) is two dimensional skew cyclic code. It is well-known that there is a correspondence between two dimensional skew cyclic codes and left ideals of the quotient ring $R_n:=F[x,y;rho,theta]/_l$. In this paper we characterize the left ideals of the ring $R_n$ with two methods and find the generator matrix for two dimensional s...
متن کاملSheaf Cohomology and Free Resolutions over Exterior Algebras
In this paper we derive an explicit version of the BernsteinGel’fand-Gel’fand (BGG) correspondence between bounded complexes of coherent sheaves on projective space and minimal doubly infinite free resolutions over its “Koszul dual” exterior algebra. Among the facts about the BGG correspondence that we derive is that taking homology of a complex of sheaves corresponds to taking the “linear part...
متن کاملLectures of Roger Bielawski given at the Summer School on Algebraic Groups
The Nahm equations are a powerful tool for constructing hyperkähler metrics on various algebraic manifolds, e.g. spaces of rational maps, coadjoint orbits, resolutions of Kleinian singularities. In these lectures I shall concentrate on their relation to semisimple algebraic groups and adjoint orbits. The aim is to show that, on the one hand, the Nahm equations provide a powerful tool for constr...
